Remotely operated Vehicles (ROV) or scientific submersibles, are in the cutting edge of technology for studies and sampling of the deep seas. These vehicles are crucial in order to understand the dynamics of the deep sea. ROV:s enable sampling and collection of specimens in situ as well as monitoring and observations of animal behaviour in situ. ROV:s are unique in the sense that they allow for sampling at cm scales instead of km scales, and to provide visual data that can inform the science community, as well as the wider public.
