Research at the Centre

The Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Sciences offer good opportunities for researchers, for those working here all year around as well as those visiting during a shorter period. Both groups are important for The Lovén Centre since they enrich each other, the former by giving continuity, acting as an attracting force for visiting researchers and contributing to renewal of the infrastructure. Visiting researchers contribute by bringing new knowledge, methods and ideas.

Many of the researchers at The Lovén Centre belong to the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Gothenburg, and The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Researchers at other departments at the University of Gothenburg and other universities are also users of The Lovén Centre. The proportion of researchers from abroad is high.

Researchers and other personell working permanent (minimum half-time) at the Lovén Centre, but belong to other departments.
